With two-factor authentication on, signing in takes your password plus a 6-digit code from an authenticator app on your phone, such as Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator. Someone who learns your password still can't get in without your phone.

Turn it on

  1. Click your name at the bottom of the sidebar, choose Settings and open Two-Factor Auth. QRPatrol may ask for your password first.
  2. Click Enable 2FA.
  3. Scan the QR code with your authenticator app. If you can't scan it, copy the key under or, enter the code manually into the app instead.
  4. Click Continue.
  5. Enter the 6-digit code your app now shows and click Confirm.

The status changes to Enabled. If you close the dialog before you confirm the code, two-factor stays off and you can start again.

Save your recovery codes

Recovery codes get you in if you lose your phone. Save them straight after you turn two-factor on.

  1. On the same page, under 2FA Recovery Codes, click View Recovery Codes.
  2. Copy the codes into a password manager or another safe place.

Each code works once. To get a fresh set, click Regenerate Codes. The old codes stop working.

Sign in with two-factor

  1. Sign in with your email and password as usual.
  2. Enter the 6-digit code from your authenticator app and click Continue.

If you don't have your phone, click login using a recovery code and enter one of your recovery codes.

Turn it off

  1. Open Two-Factor Auth.
  2. Click Disable 2FA.

From your next sign-in on, your password is enough again.
