Give guards access to the mobile app

Guards sign in to the QRPatrol mobile app with the Email and Password from their guard account. There is nothing else to switch on: as soon as a guard is saved with Status set to Active, they can sign in.
Get a guard signed in
- Send the guard the app. Open Download App in the sidebar. The newest version is at the top, and the Download column has its iOS, Android or APK link.
- Give the guard the email and password you set on their account.
- Show them your company's login QR code. It is on the Dashboard under Guard Login QR Code, next to your Company Code:. Use Download or Print to put it where guards can scan it.
On the app's login screen, the guard taps the QR icon, scans that code, then enters their email and password. The QR code only fills in your company. Guards can also sign in with just their email and password.
Guards you added during setup
Guards you entered while setting up your company have no password yet. Each of them got a welcome email with a 6-digit code. To choose their own password, they tap Forgot Password? in the app, enter their email and follow the steps. Tapping Send Code there emails them a fresh code, so it doesn't matter if the first one has expired. You can also set a password for them yourself, see Reset a guard's password.
Which buildings guards see
The app lists a guard's buildings on its home screen, and a foot patrol starts by picking one of them. A guard sees:
- their Default Building, and
- every building they are assigned to under Assigned Guards on the building's page. See The building page.
Inactive buildings don't appear. An assignment with a start or end date only counts between those dates.
Choose which patrols a guard can do
On the guard's form, Can Foot Patrol and Can Drive under Patrol Permissions decide whether the guard can start a foot patrol, a car patrol or both. See Add a guard.
Reset a guard's password
- In Guards, click Edit on the guard's row.
- Under Change Password (Optional), enter the new Password and type it again in Confirm Password.
- Click Update Guard.
Guards can also reset it themselves: on the app's login screen they tap Forgot Password? and get a 6-digit code by email. The code works for 15 minutes.
Block a guard's access
Edit the guard, set Status to Inactive and click Update Guard. The app stops working for them straight away, and they can't sign in again until you set them back to Active.
Find guards who haven't signed in
In Guards, open Filters and set App Activity to Never Logged In. Inactive for 30+ Days finds guards who stopped using the app.
