A shift template is a named start and end time, such as First Shift from 08:00 to 16:00. When you schedule a shift, picking a template fills in the times for you.
Create a template
- Open Shift Templates. You can also get there from the Schedule Shift form: click Manage next to Shift Template.
- Click New Template. If you have no templates yet, you can click Create First Template instead.
- Enter a Template Name, for example
Night Shift. - Set the Start Time and End Time. For a shift that runs past midnight, enter an end time earlier than the start time, for example 22:00 to 06:00.
- Add a Description if you like.
- Leave Active ticked so the template is offered when you schedule shifts.
- Click Create.
The template appears in the list with its Time Range and Duration in hours. An overnight template counts the hours across midnight, so 22:00 to 06:00 shows 8 hours.
Use a template
On the Schedule Shift form, open the Shift Template list under Shift Schedule and pick a template. QRPatrol copies its times into Start Time and End Time. You can still change them before you save. Only active templates are listed.
To see which shifts came from a template, filter the shift list by Shift Template.
Edit, pause or delete a template
- Click the pencil on a template to open Edit Template, change it and click Update. Shifts already scheduled from it keep their times.
- Untick Active to stop offering a template without deleting it.
- Click the bin and confirm with Delete to remove a template. Shifts already created from it are not affected.
To change several templates at once, tick their rows and choose Activate, Deactivate, Export CSV or Delete in the bar that appears.
