Checkpoints
Print QR codes
Download a checkpoint's QR code as an image, print it and put it up where guards will scan it.

On this page
Every checkpoint has a QR code made from its Checkpoint Code. Guards scan it with the mobile app to prove they were there. QRPatrol gives you each code as a PNG image that you print yourself and stick up at the checkpoint.
Download from the checkpoint list
- Open Checkpoints.
- Click the small QR image in the QR column. A window opens with the checkpoint's name, its code and a larger QR code.
- Click Download.
The image is saved as a PNG named after the checkpoint code, for example DOT-CP-001-qr.png.
Download from the checkpoint page
- In Checkpoints, click View on the checkpoint's row.
- In the QR Code panel on the right, click Preview to see it larger, or Download to save it.
Download from a route
- Open the building from Buildings and go to the Patrol Routes tab.
- Click a route to see its checkpoints in order.
- Click a checkpoint's QR image, then click Download.
This is handy when you put up the stickers for one route at a time.
Print and put them up
- The image holds only the QR code, with no name on it. Write or print the checkpoint's name next to it so nobody puts it up in the wrong place.
- Print each code at least 5 cm (2 in) across so phones can read it quickly.
- Stick it where the guard has to stand at that spot, at a height that's easy to scan.
Print on weatherproof stickers
Outdoor checkpoints last longer on laminated or weatherproof labels.
Before you leave the site, scan each new sticker with the mobile app to check it works. See Scan checkpoints.
When you need a new sticker
The QR code contains the checkpoint code, not the name. You only need to reprint when the code changes:
- If you edit the Checkpoint Code, the old sticker no longer matches and scans of it fail. Download and put up the new code.
- Renaming a checkpoint or moving it to another building keeps the same code, so the old sticker keeps working.
What else the checkpoint page shows
Besides the QR code, the checkpoint page shows Total Scans, Scans Today, This Week and the Last Scan, the checkpoint's Basic Information and Location Details, and its ten most recent scans under Recent Scans. Click Edit at the top to change it. See Add checkpoints.
