Manage a building
Use a building's page to see its checkpoints, routes, shifts and scans, assign guards, edit its details, or deactivate and delete it.

On this page
Every building has its own page that pulls together everything at that site. To open it, go to Buildings and click View on the building's row.
What's on the page
The top shows the building's name, code and address, with four counters: Checkpoints, Patrol Routes, Shifts and Assigned Guards. Below them are six tabs.
| Tab | What you find there |
|---|---|
| Overview | The Building Information (code, status, client, address, GPS coordinates, contract) and the Assigned Guards. |
| Shifts | The building's shifts, with a Calendar View underneath. |
| Patrol Routes | The building's active routes. Click a route to see its checkpoints in order. Create Route starts a new one. |
| Checkpoints | Every checkpoint in the building, with its QR code, type, priority, number of scans and status. Add Checkpoint creates a new one already linked to this building. |
| Reports | Generate Report opens the report wizard. |
| Scan Log | Every scan at this building's checkpoints, newest first: when, which checkpoint, which guard, the shift, the method and whether the scan was valid. |
Assign guards to the building
The Assigned Guards list on the Overview tab records who looks after this site.
- On the Overview tab, click Add Guard.
- Choose a guard under Select Guard. Only active guards who are not already on this building are listed.
- Optionally set a Start Date and End Date. Leave both empty to assign the guard with no end date.
- Tick Primary guard for this building if this is the site's main guard. They get a Primary badge in the list.
- Add Notes if you need to, then click Assign Guard.
To take a guard off the building, click the cross on their row and confirm.
Assigning a guard here does not schedule them. To give a guard work at this building, create a shift. See Schedule a shift.
Edit the building
- Click Edit at the top of the building page. You can also click Edit on the building's row in the list.
- Change what you need. The Building Code must still be unique.
- Click Update Building.
You return to the building page with the changes saved.
Deactivate a building
If you stop protecting a site for a while, deactivate it instead of deleting it.
- Open the building and click Edit.
- Under Settings & Notes, untick Building is active.
- Click Update Building.
The building shows as Inactive in the list and keeps its checkpoints, routes and shifts. You can't pick it when you create a new checkpoint. Tick the box again to bring it back.
Change several buildings at once
- In Buildings, tick the box at the start of each building you want to change.
- In the bar that appears above the table, click an action: Activate, Deactivate, Require GPS, GPS optional, Export CSV or Delete.
- Confirm in the window that opens. Export CSV downloads the file straight away.
Require GPS and GPS optional turn Require GPS validation for check-ins on or off for every selected building.
Delete a building
- In Buildings, click Delete on the building's row.
- Read the warning and click Delete Building.
You can't undo this from the app. If you might need the building again, deactivate it instead.
